After you upload your letter and return to your dashboard, you will see that DecidED provides an evaluation of how affordable we think the offer is. There are three levels of affordability in DecidED: Affordable, Somewhat Affordable, and Not Affordable. The college profile page will show a pie chart with the amount filled in that is covered by your free grants and scholarships, and how much of a gap there is left over. It will also be color coded based on the affordability rating.
Keep in mind there may be things we don’t know about your finances - like how much money you’ve saved from a summer job, or money that your family is giving you. We assume that you are starting from a place of $0 to pay for college and we base our affordability ratings on that. Read more about how DecidED calculates affordability.
